Welcome, Introduction and Call to Worship

The Lord is my light and my salvation;

    the Lord is the strength of my life.

The Father has delivered us

from the dominion of darkness,

    and transferred us to the

    kingdom of his beloved Son.
For the God who said

‘Let light shine out  of darkness’,
has caused his light to shine within us,

to give the light of the knowledge

of the glory of God

in the face of Jesus Christ.

Monthly Celebration of Communion: There will now be the opportunity to celebrate Holy Communion immediately following the morning service on the first Sunday of those months when there is not already a communion at the main service (excluding July, August, and January). The first of these communion services will be after today’s morning service. Those wishing to attend are invited to proceed to the front pews of the church after the main service is concluded.

The Guild: On Monday the 3rd of February 2025 we will welcome Liz McIntyre Allan back. Her subject will be Amy and Jim Johnson – Pioneers of Aviation. All are welcome to join us to hear what should be a very interesting talk.

The new Bible study group “Bible Blethers” will commence on Wednesday, 5th February at 10am in the Morriston Room. We will initially be watching “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Shadowlands” both written by C.S. Lewis. The group will meet fortnightly with the option to meet weekly during Lent.

The Neighbourly will meet on Wednesday 5th February at 2.15pm in the Small Hall when the speaker will be Mrs Jan Ritchie. All welcome.

The ‘Churches Group’ Men’s Breakfast, second Saturday of each month is at Wetherspoons on Saturday 08th Feb at 8.30-8:45. No booking, just turn up, put your order in, pay for your own and enjoy the company.

Burns Afternoon: On Monday, 10th February at 1.30pm the children from Cairns Primary School are coming down to the Church to entertain us. They do very well in the Brighton Burns competition so this will be a great afternoon. There is a sheet in the welcome area for names so we know an idea of how many are coming. Everybody is welcome. Donation will be for the school. For more info see Karen.
