Burns Afternoon: On Monday 10th February at 1.30pm the children from Cairns Primary School are coming down to the Church to entertain us. They do very well in the Bridgeton Burns competition so this will be a great afternoon. There is a sheet in the welcome area for names, so we know an idea of how many are coming. Everybody is welcome. Donation will be for the school. For more info see Karen.

The Neighbourly will meet on Wednesday 12th February at 2.15pm in the Small Hall when the speaker will be Mr David Atkins. All welcome.

Close Knit Events: Dates for the diary:

Thursday 13th February 1:30 – 4pm

Thursday 13th March 1:30 – 4pm

Venue: Large Hall Cambuslang Parish Church.

CPC members have been knitting / crocheting like fury. Keep up the good work. Come along on the above dates to plan and sew the blankets, knit/crochet and enjoy a cup of tea and home baking. Pop in during the afternoon for even a little while. Lorna Morrison.

World Day of Prayer: Everyone is welcome to attend this service on Friday 7th March 2025 at 2pm in Cambuslang Parish Church. The service this year was prepared by people from the Cook Islands. Representatives from churches across Rutherglen and Cambuslang Churches are taking part. There will be tea served after the service.

Holiday Club: 8th & 9th of April in Cambuslang Parish Church. We are looking for volunteers to help, both as group leaders and in the kitchen to make lunch. Volunteers would be required from 8.30am to 5pm, people in the kitchen would only be required from 10am to 12.30. If you are not PVG we will get that done ASAP. We would appreciate whatever help people can give. Please speak to Karen Hamilton.

Foodbank: A big thank you to everyone who supports the Foodbank by donating. The items most needed this month are: sugar, tinned meat, tinned fruit, rice pudding, spaghetti hoops, UHT milk, coffee.

The Pastoral Visitation Team are looking to add more visitors to those we already have in order that all members in need of a visit are visited. Visitors are asked to visit one or two homes once every four to six weeks and require to have PVG which will be arranged through the church. For further information please contact Janet Stewart on: 07850 376 703.

The Prayer Tree is situated inside the welcome area, for anyone in the church and community who wishes to add a prayer to it. You can write your prayer on one of the supplied labels, and either put it on the tree or into the prayer box. The ministry team will look at the prayers regularly and pray for you.

‘Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you.’ (Jeremiah 29.12).

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THE CONGREGATION

At its meeting in October 2024, the Kirk Session identified a number of priorities which would review areas of the life of the congregation.

One of these priorities is to make contact with every member on the congregational roll to ascertain accurate contact details.  These details will be as follows:

  1. Address
  2. Telephone number
  3. e-mail address [where applicable]
  4. In addition, the following question will be asked of everyone:

How would you like to receive contact from the church in the future [in addition to your elder’s visit, should you have an elder]

Two of our elders, Alison Thomson and Isobel Allison have been asked and have agreed to facilitate this piece of work.  All information gathered will be passed to the Church Roll Keeper, Shona Jenkins, in order that our records are up to date. You may be asked for this information by your elder, if you have one, or directly by Alison or Isobel.

This exercise is being carried out in strictest confidence and according to relevant data protection protocols
