Sunday Club for children aged 3 years old to Primary 7 meets in our halls following the Children’s Time – all children welcome if they wish. If you have younger children, feel free to stay in church with them, but if you need to leave, the Welcome Area at the main door is available. We are also in need of a few more adult helpers. Please speak to Peter or Karen if you can help!

Seniors Communion Service A special Communion for “senior” members and friends of the Cambuslang Parish Church will be held on Thursday, 27 April 2023 at 2pm- All Welcome! Completed tear-off slips for the tea following the service must be handed dropped into the box in the Welcome Area marked “Pastoral Care Team Seniors’ Communion” by TODAY. For more information, please call the Minister.

Walking Group: Our next walk will take place on Saturday 29th April.  The destination on this occasion is a carpark at Loch Turret, which is near Crief.  Walkers will have the choice of two walks, the harder walk involves a climb up to the ridge overlooking Loch Turret, the walkers will then continue along the ridge, they will then descend down to the Lochside where they will then return along the Lochside to the carpark.  This walk is just over 10 miles.  The easier walk will see this group walking along the lochside to the far end and then returning back along the same path, this walk is just under 6 miles.

Those interested in coming should meet outside the church at 8:30. travel will be in shared cars.

Foodbank AGM: The Rutherglen & Cambuslang Foodbank AGM will be held in the United Reformed Church, 69 Johnstone Drive, Rutherglen, G73 2QA on Thursday 27 April at 7pm. If you want to find out a bit more about what the Foodbank does please come along. Everyone welcome.

Fellowship Team: There will be a meeting of the Fellowship Team next Sunday, 30 April in the Morriston Room after the service.

Coronation Lunch: The Fellowship Team will be marking the Coronation of King Charles III with a lunch in the large hall after the service on Sunday 7 May.  All members of the congregation are welcome but, to help estimate numbers, please add your name to the sign-up sheet in the Welcome Area. Thank you.

Cambuslang & District Voluntary Care Club: Sponsored Silence

On the evening of 10th May, Cambuslang & District Voluntary Care Club will be holding a Sponsored Silence for one hour. One hour, to

most people doesn’t seem much of a challenge but for our Club members it is a big challenge because our usual Club nights are noisy, chatty and very lively.  If you would like to support the Club by sponsoring our members with a small donation it would be very much appreciated.  Sponsor Sheets are on the table around the Church Office or please speak with Margaret MacFarlane or May Fotheringham.

Plant Sale: The Fundraising Group will be holding a plant sale again this year on Saturday 13 May from 10am until 1pm.
In addition to the plants there will be other activities (particularly suitable for children) organised by the Scouts. More details will follow but meantime please put the date in your diary!

Summer Holiday Club: This year’s Summer Holiday Club will be on Tuesday 1 & Wednesday 2 August. It will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm. This has been a very successful format in the club’s we have run before. What we need is people to volunteer as a leader. Please think about it. If you do not have a PVG, we will have to start the process now. Without your help we cannot run the club, and it is a lot of fun both for the kids and the helpers. Please speak to Karen Hamilton for more information.

Exploring Faith? Thinking about joining the church? If you have started attending church recently and would like to know more about Christianity, please get in touch with our minister, Peter. He hopes to get a few people together to explore the Christian faith and whether they would like to become members of the church. It would also be nice to have a few people who are already members to come along to encourage the new folk! Contact Peter at 0141 586 2126 or email ku.gro.dnaltocsfohcruhcnull@omminp.

Church office: To contact the office, please phone or visit the office when it is open- every Thursday from 10am to 4pm. Alternatively, please call 0141 642 9271 or email ku.gro.hcruhchsirapgnalsubmacnull@eciffo.

Halls Convenor: please send any enquiries about hall bookings etc to moc.duolcinull@llaguodcm.bob.

The Prayer Tree is situated inside the main door entrance, for anyone in the church and community who wishes to add a prayer to it. You can write your prayer on one of the supplied labels, and either put it on the tree or into the prayer box. The ministry team will look at the prayers regularly and pray for you. ‘Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you.’ (Jeremiah 29.12).

Katharina Nimmo will be delighted to receive your announcements by Tuesday at 6pm for inclusion in the Order of Service: ylimaf.omminnull@anirahtak
