The Neighbourly

The Neighbourly is an organisation within Cambuslang Parish Church. Over its more than one hundred year history it has evolved from a meeting of young women with their children, who met for fellowship and mutual support, to a group of older people, who still enjoy fellowship and friendship. At present the membership is exclusively female, but all are welcome.

We meet on a Wednesday from 2.15 till around 4pm in the Small Hall from October till March. We begin with a short period of devotions ( a hymn, a Bible Reading and a prayer) followed by a speaker or an activity. We try to have a varied programme of speakers, dealing with serious and lighthearted topics, such as the Kilbryde Hospice, the Food Bank, the Great British Sewing Bee and a lunch to commemorate Robert Burns. We finish with tea/coffee and biscuits, and a time to chat. It’s a very happy group and we would love to welcome more members.
