Welcome and Announcements

Call to Worship

Hymn CMP 1286 Hope is here

1        Hope is here, shout the news to everyone,

it’s a new day, peace has come: Jesus saves.

Mercy triumphs at the cross,

love has come to rescue us: Jesus saves.

Hope is here, what a joyful noise we’ll make,

as we join with heaven’s song

to let all the world know that Jesus saves.

Raise a shout to let all the world know that Jesus saves.

2        Free at last, every debt has been repaid,

broken hearts can be remade: Jesus saves.

Sing above the storms of life,

sing it through the darkest night: Jesus saves.

Free at last, what a joyful noise we’ll make,

as we join with heaven’s song

to let all the world know that Jesus saves.

Raise a shout to let all the world know that Jesus saves.

Sing it out, to let all the world know that Jesus saves.

Raise a shout to let all the world know that Jesus saves.

You save, You heal, restore, reveal

Your Father’s heart to us.

You rose to raise us from the grave; Your Spirit lives in us.

Sing it out . . .      Sing it out . . .      . . .Jesus saves.

Nick Herbert and Tim Hughes.

Sunday Club for children aged 3 years old to Primary 7 meets in our halls following the Children’s Time – all children welcome if they wish. If you have younger children, feel free to stay in church with them, but if you need to leave, the Welcome Area at the main door is available. We are also in need of a few more adult helpers. Please speak to Peter or Karen if you can help!

Seniors Communion Service A special Communion for “senior” members and friends of the Cambuslang Parish Church will be held on Thursday, 27 April 2023 at 2pm. Tea, coffee and delicious homemade scones, pancakes etc will be served in the hall after the service. Invitations are available in the Welcome Area. Your help in passing on invitations to others would be much appreciated. Completed tear-off slips attached to invitations can be handed to any member of the Pastoral Care Team, sent into the Church Office or dropped into the box in the Welcome Area marked “Pastoral Care Team Seniors’ Communion” by NEXT SUNDAY 23 April. For more information, please call the Church Office.

Foodbank AGM: The Rutherglen & Cambuslang Foodbank AGM will be held in the United Reformed Church, 69 Johnstone Drive, Rutherglen, G73 2QA on Thursday 27 April at 7pm. If you want to find out a bit more about what the Foodbank does please come along. Everyone welcome.

Coronation Lunch: The Fellowship Team will be marking the Coronation of King Charles III with a lunch in the large hall after the service on Sunday 7 May.  All members of the congregation are welcome but, to help estimate numbers, please add your name to the sign-up sheet in the Welcome Area. Thank you.

Plant Sale: The Fundraising Group will be holding a plant sale again this year on Saturday 13 May from 10am until 1pm.
In addition to the plants there will be other activities (particularly suitable for children) organised by the Scouts. More details will follow but meantime please put the date in your diary!

Summer Holiday Club: This year’s Summer Holiday Club will be on Tuesday 1 & Wednesday 2 August. It will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm. This has been a very successful format in the club’s we have run before. What we need is people to volunteer as a leader. Please think about it. If you do not have a PVG, we will have to start the process now. Without your help we cannot run the club, and it is a lot of fun both for the kids and the helpers. Please speak to Karen Hamilton for more information.
