Sunday Club The children will join us for the whole service today. Next Sunday, we return to the usual pattern, and the Sunday Club for children aged 3 years old to Primary 7 will meet in our halls following the Children’s Time – all children welcome if they wish. If you have younger children, feel free to stay in church with them, but if you need to leave, the Welcome Area at the main door is available. We are also in need of a few more adult helpers. Please speak to Peter or Karen if you can help!
Seniors Communion Service A special Communion for “senior” members and friends of the Cambuslang Parish Church will be held on Thursday, 27 April 2023 at 2pm. Tea, coffee and delicious homemade scones, pancakes etc will be served in the hall after the service. Due to the cost of postage, we regret that invitations will not be posted out for this, or future events organised by the Pastoral Care Team. Invitations are available in the Welcome Area. Your help in passing on invitations to others would be much appreciated. Completed tear-off slips attached to invitations can be handed to any member of the Pastoral Care Team, sent into the Church Office or dropped into the box in the Welcome Area marked “Pastoral Care Team Seniors’ Communion” by Sunday 23 April. For more information, please call the Church Office.
The ‘Churches Group’ Men’s breakfast –Saturday 15 April, at Wetherspoons in Cambuslang – the previously announced breakfast on 8 April was cancelled. We start at 8.30-8.45am, each person orders and pays for their own breakfast. We eat, drink and chat till around 9.30-10am. All are welcome.
Coronation Lunch: The Fellowship Team will be marking the Coronation of King Charles III with a lunch in the large hall after the service on Sunday 7 May. All members of the congregation are welcome but, to help estimate numbers, please add your name to the sign-up sheet in the Welcome Area. Thank you.
Plant Sale: The Fundraising Group will be holding a plant sale again this year on Saturday 13 May from 10am until 1pm.
In addition to the plants there will be other activities (particularly suitable for children) organised by the Scouts. More details will follow but meantime please put the date in your diary!
Summer Holiday Club: This year’s Summer Holiday Club will be on Tuesday 1 & Wednesday 2 August. It will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm. This has been a very successful format in the club’s we have run before. What we need is people to volunteer as a leader. Please think about it. If you do not have a PVG, we will have to start the process now. Without your help we cannot run the club, and it is a lot of fun both for the kids and the helpers. Please speak to Karen Hamilton for more information.
Church office: To contact the office, please phone or visit the office when it is open- every Thursday from 10am to 4pm. Alternatively, please call 0141 642 9271 or email ku.gro.hcruhchsirapgnalsubmacnull@eciffo.
Halls Convenor: please send any enquiries about hall bookings etc to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Prayer Tree is situated inside the main door entrance, for anyone in the church and community who wishes to add a prayer to it. You can write your prayer on one of the supplied labels, and either put it on the tree or into the prayer box. The ministry team will look at the prayers regularly and pray for you. ‘Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you.’ (Jeremiah 29.12).
