For information on any items please contact the Session Clerk Team

Our mission statement:
We are a warm and welcoming church
who seek to help all people experience and share
the love and teachings of Jesus Christ
in our worship and community involvement.
We affirm the dignity of all people
through compassion and kindness.

Our offerings help support the mission and work of our church and we are grateful to all those who give financially Sunday by Sunday. Many people give by standing order but there is also the option to give via the offering plate in the vestibule area of the church, immediately before entering or leaving the sanctuary. You can pop your offering in the plate either before or after the service. Thank you!

‘Close Knit’ will meet in the large hall on Thursday 5th November from 1:30 – 3:00pm. All are welcome. Bring whatever craft you are working on, join in with some projects for the community or learn from others. If you don’t craft just come along for a blether, fun and friendship. There will be tea, coffee and home baking. Speak to Lorna Morrison if you have any queries. Give it a try!

Walking Group: Our annual Mystery walk will take place on Saturday 7th November. The walk is of course a mystery however I can reveal it is about 4.5 miles and is fairly flat, there is an option to add another 3/4 of a mile to the walk and this will be decided on the day. Those interested in going should meet outside the Church at 9:30 am, any travel will be in shared cars. It is anticipated that the walk will finish around 1:00 pm and as an added bonus there will be an opportunity for the walkers to have lunch at Wetherspoons, any spouse/partner/friend of the walkers is also welcome to join us for lunch.

Foodbank: A big thank you to everyone who supports the Foodbank by donating. The items most needed this month are: Tinned Tomatoes, Tinned Fruit, Tinned Custard, Sugar, Tinned Rice Pudding, Tinned Macaroni Cheese, Tinned Beans & Sausage, Biscuits, Rice, Diluting Juice, Jam, Household Sprays, Deodorants, Soap, Size 5 Nappies.

Church Facebook …. have a look:
The ‘Church Facebook Page’ address is: https://www.facebook.com/Cambuslangparishchurch.org.uk
Will McArthur from the Comms Team is asking our Church Groups to make use of the Church Facebook by getting their news to him. The Facebook Page is ideal for advertising events for Guild, Girls Brigade, Boys Brigade, Coffee mornings, Church events, Concerts, Funerals, Outings, Walking Group, Pipe Band etc. etc. (He can be contacted via email wmca53@gmail.com)

Choir Rehearsals: Choir rehearsals are now being held after morning worship on a Sunday in the Morriston Room. We gather roughly 10-15 minutes after worship ends, to allow time for tea and coffee. Rehearsals run for approximately 45 mins – 1 hour. All are warmly welcome to come along — no experience necessary, just a willingness to join in and sing!

Foodbank Request
The Foodbank Trustees are looking for someone to take on the role of minute secretary at their monthly committee meetings and I’m hoping that you can advertise this opportunity on your next church bulletin or newsletter.

The role would require a few hours each month and would involve preparing and circulating meeting agendas in advance, taking minutes during the monthly board meeting and distributing the minutes to all trustees following the meeting.

We are keen to find someone who is organised, reliable, has good IT and administrative skills and who would be willing to offer a little of their time to support the governance and smooth running of our charity.

We would be extremely grateful if you could share this opportunity with anyone within your network who may be interested. It would be a valuable way for someone to contribute their skills to a local charity and support the important work we do within our community.

Anyone who is interested in applying or would like to know more about the role and its responsibilities should contact the Foodbank Convenor, Heather Buchan. The details are below.

Heather Buchan: – Tel: 07484 612100 Email: heather@buchan.org.uk

Thank you as always for the generous support that you and your congregation provide to the Foodbank, especially at this time of Harvest and through the Rutherglen 900 “Bags of Kindness” initiative. Your support is very much appreciated as we come together to help people in need in our community.

Kind regards,
Anita (Foodbank Manager)
