Call to worship

When we feel displaced and discouraged

God is there

In the silence and the solitude

God is there

In the chaos, the calm and everywhere in between

 God is there

We are never alone,

for God our refuge and our strength is there.

Encouraging us,

Sustaining us,

Watching us.

THEME SONG:   I Have Seen the Golden Sunshine

I have seen the golden sunshine,

I have watched the flowers grow,

I have listened to the song birds

And there’s one thing now I know,

They were all put there for us to share

By someone so divine,

And if you’re a friend of Jesus, [Clap x 4]

You’re a friend of mine.

I’ve seen the light, I’ve seen the light,

And that’s why my heart sings.

I’ve known the joy, I’ve known the joy

That loving Jesus brings.

I have seen the morning sunshine,

I have heard the oceans roar,

I have seen the flowers of springtime,

And there’s one thing I am sure,

They were all put there for us to share

By someone so divine,

And if you’re a friend of Jesus, [Clap x 4]

You’re a friend of mine.

I’ve seen the light, I’ve seen the light,

And that’s why my heart sings.

I’ve known the joy, I’ve known the joy

That loving Jesus brings.

Our mission statement:

We are a warm and welcoming church

who seek to help all people experience and share

the love and teachings of Jesus Christ

in our worship and community involvement.

We affirm the dignity of all people

through compassion and kindness.

Our offerings help support the mission and work of our church and we are grateful to all those who give financially Sunday by Sunday. Many people give by standing order but there is also the option to give via the offering plate in the vestibule area of the church, immediately before entering or leaving the sanctuary. You can pop your offering in the plate either before or after the service. Thank you!

Retiral Offering – Venezuela Earthquake: Following the mention two Sundays ago of the recent earthquake in Venezuela, it has been suggested by some members that an opportunity be given to members of the congregation who may not have already done so to give in aid of the emergency relief currently being offered, with donations being coordinated on behalf of several key charities by the Disaster Emergency Committee. Therefore, an opportunity will be provided as you leave church this morning for a retiral offering in support of the relief efforts in Venezuela.

Extra Kirk Session Meeting: A special meeting of the Kirk Session to discuss the matter of elders’ Districts and related matters will be held at 7.30pm on Tuesday 21st July.

Holiday Club: Our friends from Reachout are seeking volunteers from the congregation to help support the Holiday Club 5th-6th August. Do you have time to be a Group Leader or to help in the kitchen with snacks? Please e-mail Shona Baird shona.crrt@outlook.com

They are also looking for cardboard boxes of any size for the Holiday Club. These can be dropped off at the Reachout Office on Tuesday 4th August or again contact Shona Baird shona.crrt@outlook.com

Church Family Celebration Evening, Friday 7th August:  Thanks to everyone who has returned their booking forms. We have now reached our maximum numbers, so sadly can accept no more forms.

To assist with catering arrangements, a sheet with the menu choices has been included in today’s order of service. We would ask everyone who is coming on the 7th, to add their choice of starter and main course to the lists available in the welcome area after this morning’s service.

Thanks from James Brown: Thank you so much for the beautiful bunch of flowers and your good wishes. I appreciate the thought and the care and comfort which the church community has provided to Alec over this period.  With all good wishes, James.

Coffee & Chat: Every Tuesday at 11.15am throughout July and August, coffee, tea and baking will be available in the Welcome Area. We are hoping this will become a welcome social gathering while our groups and organisations are on holiday. Hope to see you there!

Prayer Tree: The congregational Prayer Tree is available in the Welcome Area, along with tags on which names can be written of any for whom prayers are sought. Names on the Prayer Tree will normally be included by the Ministry Team in prayers offered in worship at the Sunday Service and Tuesday Service. It is the normal practice of the Ministry Team to include first names only to help preserve appropriate anonymity. If you place a prayer request on the Prayer Tree can you also please remove that tag when prayer is no longer required. Thank you.

Halls Convenor: please send any enquiries about hall bookings etc to our Halls Convenor Derek Burns: derekburnscpc@gmail.com

Ohna Robertson will be delighted to receive your announcements for inclusion in the Order of Service by Wednesday at 12 noon: ohna.robertson@ntlworld.com
