The Neighbourly will meet on Wednesday 4th December for Christmas Lunch at the Burnside Hotel. This will be our last meeting of 2024 and we will resume on 8th January 2025.

Walking Group: The next walk will take place on Saturday 7th December. This walk will be from Eaglesham Main Street out by Picketlaw Reservoir, and Bonnyton Golf Club, arriving eventually at Bennon Loch. The walk is mainly on good roads and tracks. When we reach the loch, we will decide whether to go around the loch or return along the same route. This decision will depend on the weather and the ground conditions as the path from that point can be very muddy in places. The route is fairly flat and there are no serious hills to climb. Those interested in going on this walk should meet outside the Church at 9:00 am, travel will be in shared cars.

The Guild – Change of Date: The date for the next meeting of the Guild has been changed from the 2nd to the 9th of December. On that date we will be making decorations for the Christmas Tree Festival. This is courtesy of The Rutherglen Community Care Group. We would also welcome any ideas from our members to go with this year’s theme – ‘Fostering Community Spirit’.

Christmas Tree Festival: Don’t miss this fantastic display of decorated trees on 14th December from 10.00am till 3.30pm, followed by a service of readings and carols led by Rev. David Denniston. There will also be a Coffee Morning in the large hall from 10.00am till 12noon and we’re asking for some volunteers to help serve the goodies.  If you’re able to help for just an hour please give your name to Tony Neeson, Janet Stewart or Ohna Robertson.

Foodbank: A big thank you to everyone who supports the Foodbank by donating. The items requested on our Christmas Wish List include: UHT milk (full fat), cereal, coffee, tea, sugar, tinned meat, tinned veg, tinned fruit, custard and Christmas treats.
