Sunday Club for children aged 3 years old to Primary 7 meets in our halls following the Children’s Time – all children welcome! If you have younger children, feel free to stay in church with them, but if you need to leave, the Welcome Area at the main door is available.

Guild: The new session of the Guild will start on Monday 2 October at 2pm. This will take the form of an Afternoon of Poetry and Song with Peter Crilley and Morag Fairley. Everyone wishing to attend will be made most welcome.

Tuesday Service: Please note there will be a Tuesday service this week & it will be held in the Morriston Room at 11.45a.m.

The Neighbourly will meet on Wednesday 4 October at 2.15pm in the Small Hall. Our opening meeting will take the form of Afternoon Tea, and all are very welcome.

Country dancing will start back on Thursday 5 October in the Kirkhill downstairs hall, 7.45-9.30pm. I’m looking forward to meeting new members for the first time.

Walking Group: Our next walk will take place on Saturday 7 October. The destination for this walk is Crossford. Most of the walk is along the banks of the Clyde and is just over 7 miles long. Those interested in going on this walk should meet outside the Church at 8:30am, travel will be in shared cars.

Harvest Sunday will be on Sunday 8 October. Donations of non-perishable food would be most welcome and shared between Rutherglen & Cambuslang Foodbank and the Lodging House Mission. Information about suggested foods for both organisations are on the enclosed flyer.

Harvest Display: The Worship Team would welcome items related to Harvest for the displays in the church entrance and the chancel. Items such as fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers etc can be brought to the church between 10-11am on Saturday 7 October. They can be collected after the service on Sunday or will be distributed by Meet and 2 Veg on Monday.

Stamp Appeal: Thank you to all who have been collecting used stamps for the Church of Scotland stamp appeal. I have delivered the stamps to the Presbytery office where they are picked up.  This year’s appeal is helping the Central Church of Africa Presbyterian [CCAP] to create youth employment, improve nutrition and mitigate the effects of climate challenge.
Please continue to bring your used stamps to church to benefit our brothers and sisters in Malawi.  Hilary

Tear Fund Thank you to everyone who leaves “pennies” in the collection jar. The recent amount came to £19.20, amazing how pennies turn into pounds!

Church Office will be closed on Thursday 5 October. Alison Thomson will kindly print the Orders of Service

Halls Convenor: please send any enquiries about hall bookings etc to our new Halls Convenor Derek Burns – email: moc.liamgnull@cpcsnrubkered.

The Prayer Tree is situated inside the main door entrance, for anyone in the church and community who wishes to add a prayer to it. You can write your prayer on one of the supplied labels, and either put it on the tree or into the prayer box. The ministry team will look at the prayers regularly and pray for you.

‘Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you.’ (Jeremiah 29.12).

Katharina Nimmo will be delighted to receive your announcements by Tuesday at 6pm for inclusion in the Order of Service.
