Monthly Celebration of Communion: There will be a short and simple celebration of Holy Communion after this morning’s service. The service is open to all and those wishing to attend are invited to proceed to the front pews of the church after the main service is concluded.
The Guild are holding a Daffodil Tea at 2p.m. on the 7th of April 2025, in the Large Hall. Entertainment is by Luckenbooth. Tickets priced £6 can be purchased from May McGown or Helen Nisbet.
Holiday Club: 8th & 9th of April in Cambuslang Parish Church. We are looking for volunteers to help, both as group leaders and in the kitchen to make lunch. Volunteers would be required from 8.30am to 5pm, people in the kitchen would only be required from 10am to 12.30. If you are not PVG we will get that done ASAP. We would appreciate whatever help people can give. Please speak to Karen Hamilton.
Walking Group: Our next walk will take place on Saturday the 12th of April. The walk will start at Bridge of Weir in Renfrewshire and head down into Port Glasgow, a distance of about 7.1/2 miles. The walk is on a good path and not difficult, it is mainly downhill and there are no steep inclines. There will be many opportunities to enjoy good views over the Clyde estuary. On reaching Port Glasgow we will enjoy a coffee and a scone in Tesco’s which overlooks the Clyde. The return from Port Glasgow to Bridge of Weir will be by bus so don’t forget your bus pass. Those intending to go should meet outside the Church at 8:30, travel to Bridge of Weir will be in shared cars.
Pre-Easter Activity: For Easter this year, instead of decorating an egg, all ages are invited to make an Easter Bonnet. There are no prizes. It is just for fun. You are invited to wear your bonnet to the service on Easter Sunday. Let your imaginations run wild…
Easter Sunday Breakfast – 20th April 2025: We hope you will be able to join us for breakfast following the early morning service on Easter Sunday. To help with catering, we would appreciate if you add your name and the number of adults and children to the sign up sheets. These will be in the welcome area and the large hall today and next Sunday. If you have any specific dietary requirements please speak to Susan Young.
Close Knit 850 project: Lorna Morrison asks that knitters stop knitting squares at present as there has been an overwhelming response and we now need to construct the blankets. We welcome any squares you have been working on, but please do not start anymore. We will continue sewing squares into blankets on Thursday 24 April and Thursday 15 May from 1:30 – 4pm. Come along for even a short while to sew/crochet/have a natter and a cup of tea with home baking!
Discovery Group – ‘Believing and Belonging’: A group for those who are interested in thinking about the basics of the Christian faith, or considering what it might mean to be a member of the church, or interested in refreshing their understanding of Christianity, or just wondering(!) will be beginning on Thursday 1st May at 7.00pm in the Morriston Room. If you are interested then please see the attached leaflet which has further details or speak with our Locum Minister, David (07903 926727 denniston.david@gmail.com).
