In dangerous days, Jochebed, a mother, trusted God and protected her baby.

Miriam, a loving sister, stood nearby and kept watch.

All:

Through her wisdom, the baby’s story was formed.

Leader:

Pharaoh’s daughter saw the baby among the reeds and chose compassion.

All:

Through her kindness, a life was saved.

Leader:

Through the courage and care of these women, God’s purposes unfolded.

We gather to worship the God who nurtures, protects, and calls us beloved.

Come, people of God.

Our mission statement:

We are a warm and welcoming church

who seek to help all people experience and share

the love and teachings of Jesus Christ

in our worship and community involvement.

We affirm the dignity of all people

through compassion and kindness.

Our offerings help support the mission and work of our church and we are grateful to all those who give financially Sunday by Sunday. Many people give by standing order but there is also the option to give via the offering plate in the vestibule area of the church, immediately before entering or leaving the sanctuary. You can pop your offering in the plate either before or after the service. Thank you!

The Guild: On Monday the 16th of March at the usual time of 2pm we will hold our Annual Business Meeting. On that day we will also collect the Project Bags. This year’s project being ‘Bibles for Bairns’ which we feel is such a worthwhile cause. Also on that day we intend running a Silent Auction thus allowing us to bid for any treasures which others have outgrown. We will also welcome donation of items for this event. Although this will be a busy day, we will still have time for a cuppa and a chat. All are welcome to come along and join us.

Bible Blethers: Our Lent course concludes on Wednesday, 25th March. We meet in the Morriston Room at 10am as usual, and everyone is welcome to attend. Please note that there is no meeting on Wednesday, 18th March.

Congregational meeting on Wednesday 25thMarch. There will be a congregational meeting [PSG meeting*] in the Small Hall on the 25th March at 7.30pm with tea and coffee available from 7pm. This meeting will be led by Rev Hanneke Marshall [Interim Minister at Knightswood Anniesland Trinity] and will establish, through discussion, whether we have managed to achieve the priorities which were set at the beginning of the Interim Ministry period.  It is important that as many people as possible attend this meeting.  The outcomes of this meeting will inform our request to have our Right to Call restored by Presbytery.

*Partnership Support Group meeting

Christian Aid Week will take place between the 10th and 16th May. Envelopes will be placed in the pews for donations for the work of Christian Aid.

The Flower Team would like to thank everyone who has donated Flowers each Sunday over the years. Flowers enhance the beauty of the Church and bring pleasure to those who receive them after worship. There are a few vacant Sundays and if you feel able to contribute, there is a notice on the board in the welcome area where you can choose a vacant Sunday.  If anyone would like to help deliver the flowers after Sunday Service, then please get in touch with Anne Boyd, Flower Convenor whose phone number is on the Notice Board.

The Discovery Group is designed for those interested in exploring the basics of the faith, or considering baptism, confirmation, or ‘church membership’, or wanting to discover more about God and the Christian Life, or wanting to ‘refresh’ what they believe, or if you are simply a bit curious about the Christian Faith and following Jesus.

Anyone interested in attending can find out more from David.

Prayer Tree: The congregational Prayer Tree is available in the Welcome Area, along with tags on which names can be written of any for whom prayers are sought. Names on the Prayer Tree will normally be included by the Ministry Team in prayers offered in worship at the Sunday Service and Tuesday Service following. It is the normal practice of the Ministry Team to include first names only to help preserve appropriate anonymity.  Prayer requests are removed from the tree after an appropriate time. If you wish a name to be remembered thereafter then please place a further tag on the tree. Thank you.
