Fairtrade Fortnight 9th-22nd September 2024:
Over the years Cambuslang Parish Church has held many Fairtrade stalls to raise awareness of the importance of Fairtrade to producers in developing countries so that they can sustain their livelihoods. We were also partners in ensuring that Cambuslang became a Fairtrade Town. This has resulted in all major supermarkets stocking Fairtrade products such as tea, coffee, chocolate, bananas, cotton, fruit, spices, wine, flowers etc, etc. Retailers will supply ethical and sustainable products so long as we as consumers keep the pressure up. So maybe during Fairtrade Fortnight we could make a special effort to purchase a Fairtrade product when we do our supermarket shop.
