Church Family News

The Neighbourly will meet on Wednesday 18 January at 2.15pm in the Small Hall where Russell Clearie is going to speak about his life in politics. All are welcome.

Working with the Primary Schools in our Parish We, as school chaplains, work in partnership with Reachout Trust at assemblies and various workshops throughout the year in Cairns, James Aiton and Westcoats Primary Schools. We will be delivering the Easter Code workshop on the 6th, 9th and 24th March 2023 and we are looking for members of the congregation to help the Chaplaincy Team. If you are interested in helping at this or any other of the workshops you would require to hold a PVG from Disclosure Scotland. If you would like more information, then please speak to Deacon Karen Hamilton (07514402612, ku.gro.dnaltocsfohcruhcnull@notlimaHK) or Susan Young, Safeguarding Coordinator (07710783275, ku.gro.hcruhchsirapgnalsubmacnull@gnidraugefascpc).

Next Sunday we welcome the Rev Martin Johnson as our guest preacher. Martin may well be known to some of you- he has been a parish minister in Lanarkshire, and served the national church as Priority Areas Secretary, and Church & Society Secretary. He has chaired a review of Glasgow’s anti-poverty strategy, and the Scottish Government’s review on food poverty in Scotland. He is a member the Scottish Committee of the National Lottery Community Fund, and the Board of Christian Aid. He currently helps to facilitate a network of Poverty Truth Commissions across the UK, bringing together senior civic and business leaders to work alongside those most directly impacted by poverty to enable change. Please give Martin a warm welcome.

Peter, our minister, will be on holiday from 18 to 25 January inclusive. For all pastoral matters during this period, please contact Deacon Karen Hamilton.

Church Family News for the next two Sundays should be sent to Katharina by this Tuesday at 6pm.
