Parish Grouping Communion Service: Sunday 8 January 2023 at 10.30am We are delighted to be hosting a joint Sunday service with our friends from Flemington Hallside Parish Church here at Cambuslang in the New Year. This will take the form a  celebration of Holy Communion- a great way to celebrate our unity in Christ. For more information, please contact the minister.

Walking Group The annual Christmas / New Year walk will take place on Wednesday 28 December. This walk is one we have done many times over the years. It is a 5 mile ‘undulating’ stroll at Calderglen. Those interested in coming along should meet outside the Church at 9.30 am, travel will be in shared cars. Some walkers may also wish to meet after the walk for lunch at the local Wetherspoons in Cambuslang.

Working with the Primary Schools in our Parish We, as school chaplains, work in partnership with Reachout Trust at assemblies and various workshops throughout the year in Cairns, James Aiton and Westcoats Primary Schools. We will be delivering the Easter Code workshop on the 6th, 9th and 24th March 2023 and we are looking for members of the congregation to help the Chaplaincy Team. If you are interested in helping at this or any other of the workshops you would require to hold a PVG from Disclosure Scotland. If you would like more information, then please speak to Deacon Karen Hamilton (07514402612, ku.gro.dnaltocsfohcruhcnull@notlimaHK) or Susan Young, Safeguarding Coordinator (07710783275, ku.gro.hcruhchsirapgnalsubmacnull@gnidraugefascpc).

We will be hearing from the Reachout Trust in a video message today. They are supported in various ways by congregations in the Cambuslang and Rutherglen areas- we provide their office in the main Arnott Way church complex. For more information about Reachout, or to make a donation, see their website crrt.org.uk, or speak to Karen Hamilton.

Short course for elders and local leaders at Trinity College, Glasgow University –from 23 January to 27 March on Monday evenings, 7-9 pm. This course explores the role of local leaders in the Church of Scotland and other Reformed churches. It examines how changed circumstances and the mission calling of the church reshapes the calling and tasks of elders and local leaders in the congregation, and what this looks like, especially in the midst of difficult church change. Participants will reflect on their own experience and calling and the course will introduce approaches and tools to enhance their contribution in the church.  Email moc.liamgnull@wogsalGegelloCytinirT to register interest, application closes on 7 December.  There are also some other courses. If you would like more information on any of them please contact Peter.

Giving Service Many thanks to everyone who brought gifts for the Camglen Family Support Hub and Barnardo’s last Sunday. It was a very generous response, which will help very many families and young care leavers in our community.

The Prayer Tree is situated inside the main door entrance, for anyone in the church and community who wishes to add a prayer to it. ‘Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you.’ Jeremiah 29 v12

Tell us a little nativity!

Tell us a story with a heart!

We want a little nativity!

Tell the story tonight!

(repeat)

Every year at Christmas

We hear the story told,

But somehow it never seems too old!

Tell us a little nativity!

Tell us a story with a heart!

We want a little nativity!

Tell the story tonight!
