Meet and 2 Veg began in May 2022. It is a partnership between a local charity ‘CANAPE’ and the Kirk Session of Cambuslang Parish Church.
On Monday and Wednesday evenings volunteers pick up food from local supermarkets at the end of the day and bring it back to the church.
Here it is sorted and displayed so that anyone from the community can come and take what they need.
On a regular basis we have 20-30 people attending each evening.
The project is focused on preventing food from going to landfill but also provides support for those who are suffering from food poverty.
We welcome people from diverse communities in our local neighbourhood and are glad to provide compassion and care to all those who come through our doors.
