Hymn: In Christ alone

(during which, the offering is presented)

In Christ alone, my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied

For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

Weekly coffee and chat

As the congregation anticipates entering into vacancy at the end of Interim Ministry, the format of the Tuesday service will change.  It is unlikely that we will find a Locum [there are few around and all are currently employed in other congregations] and it would be difficult to find ministry supply each week for a short service.

In consultation with those who regularly attend the Tuesday service the following changes are being proposed during the vacancy.  This will be reviewed when a minister is called to the congregation.

On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of each month, at 11am, there will be a regular ‘Coffee and Chat’ for anyone in the congregation who can come along.  About midday a volunteer from the congregation [previously identified!] will lead a short prayer, including the names from the prayer tree and any other names which folks put forward.

On the last Tuesday of each month there will be a regular Tuesday Service at 11am led by a Reader or Minister.

We hope that the congregation will welcome the introduction of a social gathering for tea/coffee/baking on a regular basis and come along and enjoy the fellowship.

We are having a trial run on Tuesday 5th May at 11am in the Welcome Area

It will be good to see you there!

Hilary and David
