Call to worship
We come from scattered lives to this sanctuary,
to seek our unity in the Spirit,
to seek the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,
to seek the peace of God the Father.
God’s people have gathered:
to listen to God’s word
to offer God our prayers
to receive at God’s Table
Let us worship him together

HYMN:
Our God is a great big God,
Our God is a great big God,
Our God is a great big God
And He holds us in His hands.
He’s higher than a skyscraper
And deeper than a submarine.
He’s wider than the universe
And beyond my wildest dreams.
He’s known me and He’s loved me
Before the world began.
How wonderful to be a part
Of God’s amazing plan.
Our God is a great big God,
Our God is a great big God,
Our God is a great big God
And He holds us in His hands.
He’s higher than a skyscraper
And deeper than a submarine.
He’s wider than the universe
And beyond my wildest dreams.
He’s known me and He’s loved me
Before the world began.
How wonderful to be a part
Of God’s amazing plan.
Our God is a great big God,
Our God is a great big God,
Our God is a great big God
And He holds us in His hands.
Our God is a great big God,
Our God is a great big God,
Our God is a great big God
And He holds us in His hands,
And He holds us in His hands,
And He holds us in His hands,
And He holds us in His hands.

Our mission Statement
We are a warm and welcoming church
who seek to help all people experience and share
the love and teachings of Jesus Christ
in our worship and community involvement.
We affirm the dignity of all people
through compassion and kindness.
Our offerings help support the mission and work of our church and we are grateful to all those who give financially Sunday by Sunday. Many people give by standing order but there is also the option to give via the offering plate in the vestibule area of the church, immediately before entering or leaving the sanctuary. You can pop your offering in the plate either before or after the service. Thank you!
The Guild: On Monday 2nd March we will welcome Liz McIntyre back to the Guild. Liz always takes a fresh approach to her talks as she entertains and educates. Her chosen subject is ‘The Barras to Barbie’. Everyone is welcome to come along and join us at this or any of our meetings.
Bible Blethers: Our next meeting is on Wednesday, 4th March at 10am in the Morriston Room. All are welcome.
Close Knit Group will meet in the large hall on Thursday 5th March from 1:30 – 3:30pm. All are welcome. Bring whatever craft you are working on, join in with some projects for the community or learn from others. If you don’t craft just come along for a blether, fun and friendship. There will be tea, coffee and home baking.
World Day of Prayer will be held at St Anthony’s Church on 6th March 2026 at 1:30pm. This year’s service is written by Christians in Nigeria. All are welcome to worship with members of churches of Rutherglen/Cambuslang and there will be a cup of tea after the service.

Walking Group: Our next walk takes place on Saturday 7th March. We will once again be traveling by train, this time the destination is Bowling. We will walk back towards Glasgow along the Forth and Clyde Canal, this will give the walkers a very flat walk. There are a number of places along the way where it will be possible to finish walking and jump on a Train for home. Clydebank 5 miles, Westerton 7 miles, Anniesland 9 miles or for the most fit all the way back to Partick at 11.5 miles. The final decision on how far we walk will be decided on the day. Those intending to join this walk should meet at Cambuslang Station at 09:00, we intend to get the 09:10 with a change at Partick.
Kirk Session lunch and conference: There will be a Kirk Session lunch and short conference immediately after church on Sunday 8th March where we will be considering the report from the Comms and Admin group.
Christian Aid Week will take place between the 10th and 16th May. Envelopes will be placed in the pews for donations for the work of Christian Aid.
The Fundraising Team would like to thank everyone who attended the most enjoyable Phoenix Choir concert last Sunday. It was a very successful afternoon with approximately £900 raised for church funds.

THE REAL EASTER EGG CAMPAIGN

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS THE LAST SUNDAY TO ORDER AND PAY FOR YOUR EASTER EGGS. IF YOU WISH TO ORDER PLEASE SEE SHEETS IN THE WELCOME AREA AND THE LARGE HALL. ANY PAYMENTS CAN BE GIVEN TO JANET STEWART TODAY (SUNDAY).
If you wish eggs but don’t have the money today, please add your name to the list and add your contact number, I will collect the sheets and contact you direct.
Fifteen years ago, David Marshall, founder and CEO of Meaningful Chocolate came up with the idea of The Real Easter Egg – it was called “Real” because it did three things: included a copy of the Easter Story and supported Fairtrade and charitable projects.
The Real Easter Egg is NOT on sale in supermarkets.
A few years ago we supported this by asking our church family to consider buying The Real Easter Egg and we are offering you the opportunity to do so again this year.
The 2026 Original Real Easter Egg includes a new 24 page Easter Story activity book.
Posters showing the range, prices and order forms will be available in the vestibule and the large hall before and after the morning service from this Sunday 1st February until Sunday 1st March. The order will be sent on Tuesday 3rd March.
Please speak to me if you wish further information. Payment will be required no later than Sunday 1st March.
Thank You.
Susan Young
Prayer Tree: The congregational Prayer Tree is available in the Welcome Area, along with tags on which names can be written of any for whom prayers are sought. Names on the Prayer Tree will normally be included by the Ministry Team in prayers offered in worship at the Sunday Service and Tuesday Service following. It is the normal practice of the Ministry Team to include first names only to help preserve appropriate anonymity. Prayer requests are removed from the tree after an appropriate time. If you wish a name to be remembered thereafter then please place a further tag on the tree. Thank you.
Halls Convenor: please send any enquiries about hall bookings etc to our Halls Convenor Derek Burns: derekburnscpc@gmail.com
