Christian Aid: Today is the official start of Christian aid week. Envelopes have been placed on the pews if you wish to make a donation. The envelopes will be available until the 18th May. They can be returned in the collection plate or handed in to the Church Office. Please give as generously as you can. Thank you.

Church Fundraising Challenge: This challenge involves starting with a £10 or £20 ‘start up’ that the church will provide. The expectation is that through your own creative means and talent, you will generate a profit for church funds. You will of course be expected to repay the original amount plus any profit you make. This fundraising project will last from May until September, allowing all who participate plenty of time to knit, sew, bake or grow, or come up with your own ideas. If you are willing to take on the challenge, sign up sheets are available in the entrance area and during coffee.

Close Knit 850 project: Lorna Morrison asks that knitters stop knitting squares at present as there has been an overwhelming response and we now need to construct the blankets. We will continue sewing the squares into blankets on Thursday 15 May from 1:30 – 4pm. Come along for even a short while to sew/crochet/have a natter and a cup of tea with home baking!

The Plant Sale and Coffee Morning is almost upon us! We are looking for helpers to assist at the Coffee Morning and during the Plant Sale on 17 May. If you can help out, please give your name to Ohna Robertson, Tony Neeson, Alison Thomson, Janet Stewart or Bob McDougall.

The Girls’ Brigade will be holding their annual Parents’ Night on Monday 19th of May in the large hall. This will start at 7 pm and all families and friends are welcome.

The Prayer Tree is situated inside the welcome area, for anyone in the church and community who wishes to add a prayer to it. You can write your prayer on one of the supplied labels, and either put it on the tree or into the prayer box. The ministry team will look at the prayers regularly and pray for you.

‘Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you.’ (Jeremiah 29.12).

Reachout Trust: From September, Reachout is going to be blessed with another SU Gap Year, Jenna. To enable Jenna to carry out her Gap year they need to find her accommodation locally. If this is something you could offer, please contact rossm.crrt@outlook.com, Also see poster on the notice board for further information.

Artwork for the Courtyard Garden: We are replacing the knitting which was attached to the netting in the courtyard. The knitting was wonderful but had reached the end of its time. We are calling on all youth organisations and anyone who would like to have a go, to draw or paint a picture on A4 size paper. These will be laminated and hung on the netting in the courtyard. Pictures can be handed in to a folder which will be in the welcome area. We are looking forward to seeing some great pictures. Animals, plants, trees etc would look great.

Foodbank: A big thank you to everyone who supports the Foodbank by donating. The items most needed this month are: Rice, Diluting Juice, Pasta Sauce, Tinned: Soup, Tomatoes, Spaghetti Hoops, Macaroni Cheese, Beans & Sausages, Tinned Meat, Tinned Fish, Sugar, UHT Milk.

Halls Convenor: please send any enquiries about hall bookings etc to our Halls Convenor Derek Br: derekburnscpc@gmail.com
