Our mission statement:
We are a warm and welcoming church
who seek to help all people experience and share
the love and teachings of Jesus Christ
in our worship and community involvement.
We affirm the dignity of all people
through compassion and kindness.
Our offerings help support the mission and work of our church and we are grateful to all those who give financially Sunday by Sunday. Many people give by standing order but there is also the option to give via the offering plate in the vestibule area of the church, immediately before entering or leaving the sanctuary. You can pop your offering in the plate either before or after the service. Thank you!
Bethlehem Romanian Pentecostal Church at CPC: We are looking for keyholders to volunteer to open and close the building on Sunday afternoons over the next few months while the former Baptist church is renovated. Opening between 2.30-2.45 and closing at 6pm. There is a sign-up sheet in the welcome area for volunteers. Thanks in advance.
Guild: On Monday, 16th February, we will meet at 2pm when Rev. Val Duff will explain her involvement with the bagpipes! This promises to be an interesting afternoon. Everyone is welcome to join us.
Bible Blethers: Rescheduled meeting. Unfortunately, last week’s meeting had to be cancelled. We now meet this Wednesday, 18th February at 10am in the Morriston Room. All are welcome to attend.
Kirk Session: Please notethe next Kirk Session meeting will take place on Tuesday 24th February in the Morriston Room at 7.30pm.

Message from Glasgow Phoenix Choir
We are looking forward to our concert in Cambuslang Parish Church next Sunday afternoon (22nd February 2.30 pm). It is one of our favourite venues as we are always assured of a warm welcome, so we are delighted to come as part of our 75th season. We have been rehearsing hard and our programme this year includes a huge variety of choral favourites including classic and modern anthems, jazz numbers, Scots and Burns songs, the Beatles and even a bit of ABBA thrown in so there will be something for everyone. The concert is in aid of Church funds. Tickets (£10) are available after Church or at the door and include refreshments and children are free, so this is an ideal opportunity for a family outing or to invite friends and neighbours to join us for this special event.
DISCOVERY GROUP ‘Believing and Belonging’
THE DISCOVERY GROUP REMAINS SUSPENDED MEANTIME
New dates will be intimated in due course.
Meanwhile, anyone interested in attending can find out more from David.
A reminder that these meetings are for those interested in exploring the basics of the faith, or considering baptism, confirmation, or ‘church membership’, or wanting to discover more about God and the Christian Life, or wanting to ‘refresh’ what they believe, or if you are simply a bit curious about the Christian Faith and following Jesus
Newsletter to all Rutherglen & Cambuslang Churches and Places of Worship
I am writing to you from everyone at Rutherglen & Cambuslang Foodbank to offer our heartfelt thanks for all that you continue to do for the Foodbank. The support that you give is welcomed by so many in our community. Here’s an update on the latest activities at the Foodbank that you may wish to share with your congregation.
Foodbank Coordinator Position: there has been a lot of interest in our Foodbank Coordinator role which was advertised during January. The application period is now closed, and we will be interviewing candidates for the post towards the end of this month. We will let you know when our new Foodbank Coordinator has been appointed.
Foodbank Update: in the meantime, it’s business as usual at the Foodbank. We handed out 4,681 food parcels between April and December 2025 and have noticed that there has been an increase in the number of family parcels distributed. Thanks to you, and the generosity from the local community, we can meet this demand.
We have also been able to offer pet food, toiletries, household cleaning items, bakery produce, soup packs and a food parcel tailored to Halal requirements. We have partnerships with the Fuel Bank Foundation and Tesco Mobile, so we offer our customers Fuel vouchers and SIM cards. We owe a huge thank-you to our volunteers who carry
out a wide range of activities to keep everything running smoothly.
Cambuslang Foodbank centre: the Cambuslang Foodbank distribution centre relocated to Cambuslang Parish Church in December. This is a temporary move due to the extensive refurbishment work taking place in the Romanian Pentecostal Church of God. We are grateful to everyone at Cambuslang Parish Church for their warm welcome and support which means we can continue to be there for those who need our help.
A date for your diary: the Foodbank AGM will be on Thursday 23rd April in Cambuslang Parish Church. Please join us for a full update on the Foodbank’s activities and future plans. Formal invitations will be sent but you may wish to note the date.
Finally, I’d like to thank you for your continued commitment to the Foodbank. We appreciate the generous support we receive from you and your congregation as we work together to relieve the pressure of poverty in our community.
Kind regards,
Heather Buchan

THE REAL EASTER EGG CAMPAIGN
Fifteen years ago, David Marshal, founder and CEO of Meaningful Chocolate came up with the idea of The Real Easter Egg – it was called “Real” because it did three things: included a copy of the Easter Story and supported Fairtrade and charitable projects.
The Real Easter Egg is NOT on sale in supermarkets.
A few years ago we supported this by asking our church family to consider buying The Real Easter Egg and we are offering you the opportunity to do so again this year.
The 2026 Original Real Easter Egg includes a new 24 page Easter Story activity book.
Posters showing the range, prices and order forms will be available in the vestibule and the large hall before and after the morning service from this Sunday 1st February until Sunday 1st March. The order will be sent on Tuesday 3rd March.
Please speak to me if you wish further information. Payment will be required no later than Sunday 1st March.
Thank You.
Susan Young

Prayer Tree: The congregational Prayer Tree is available in the Welcome Area, along with tags on which names can be written of any for whom prayers are sought. Names on the Prayer Tree will normally be included by the Ministry Team in prayers offered in worship at the Sunday Service and Tuesday Service following. It is the normal practice of the Ministry Team to include first names only to help preserve appropriate anonymity. Prayer requests are removed from the tree after an appropriate time. If you wish a name to be remembered thereafter then please place a further tag on the tree. Thank you.
Halls Convenor: please send any enquiries about hall bookings etc to our Halls Convenor Derek Burns: derekburnscpc@gmail.com
Ohna Robertson will be delighted to receive your announcements for inclusion in the Order of Service by Wednesday at 12 noon: ohna.robertson@ntlworld.com
