Our mission statement:
We are a warm and welcoming church
who seek to help all people experience and share
the love and teachings of Jesus Christ
in our worship and community involvement.
We affirm the dignity of all people
through compassion and kindness.
Thank you to all who attended and enjoyed the Bruce Davies concert on 20th September. The sum of £360 was raised for church funds.
Karen, our Deacon, will be on holiday from 6th October – 19th October inclusive.
Church Office – will be closed for the next 2 Thursdays 2nd & 9th October. Alison Thomson is once again printing the order of service.
The £10/£20 Challenge will be wound up at the end of September. If you still have proceeds from your endeavours, please pass these on to Tony Neeson, Ohna Robertson, Janet Stewart, Bob McDougall or Alison Thomson. Alternatively, if you received money from the church but have not managed to use this towards a fundraising activity, please return that money. The challenge has been a great success, and the Fundraising Team would like to thank all those who took part. It has generated a great deal of fun and fellowship as well as raising funds for the church. The financial results will be announced once all monies have been ingathered.
Walking Group: Our next walk will take place on Saturday 4th October, it is a 6 / 7 mile walk along the Ayrshire Coastal Pathway from Irvine to Troon. This will give the walkers some lovely views of the Clyde Estuary and there should be time for afternoon tea on arrival at Troon. On this occasion travel is by train, those interested in going on this walk should meet outside Cambuslang Station at 8:45 am.
The Church will be decorated for Harvest Sunday on Saturday 4th October 2025. Donations of fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers would be most welcome for the Harvest Display. Any donations can be dropped off at the church on Saturday 4th October between 11:00 and 11.30 (after the funeral at 10.15). It is hoped that these items will be sold after the Sunday service and Communion on 5th October 2025, in aid of Lodging House Mission.
The funeral of Mrs Margaret Keary [formerly of Westburn] will take place in the church on Saturday 4th October at 10.15am.
The Guild: The new session will begin on the 6th of October on a bright note with music from Short and Sweet (Stewart and Carol Moir). Thereafter we have put together a syllabus which should provide something of interest for everyone. We hope to welcome back established members, new members and visitors to this and any of our meetings.
The Thanksgiving Service for Mrs Roberta Willamson will take place in the Church on Friday 10th October at 2pm. Please note there will be a private cremation [family members only], on Thursday 9th October.
Kilbryde Hospice Annual Ball 2025: We are thrilled to announce that the Kilbryde Hospice 2025 Annual Ball will be held on Saturday, 4th October at the Doubletree by Hilton, Glasgow. Lodging House Mission – Harvest Donation Requests 2025
We are so grateful to you for supporting LHM year after year, it means a lot to us. We’ve put together a short list of the things we need most. If you’re able, please pick from these – we’ve thought it through, so it reflects what we actually use. We’ve also included a few everyday essentials we usually have to buy; donating these would save us money that we can redirect to other areas of our work. Your help allows us cook hot, nutritious lunches and put together food parcels for clients who are struggling. If a cash donation is easier, we’ll use it to buy fresh fruit, veg and other perishables we need, keeping meals healthy and cutting waste. Thank you from The LHM Team
