David Denniston Leave: David will be on leave from 18 August until 5 September inclusive (and will additionally have limited availability from 8 to 11 September). During this period any matters of pastoral urgency should be referred to Rev Hilary McDougall or Karen Hamilton.
The Girls’ Brigade will resume on the evening of Monday 1st September. This will be an enrolment night in the Church Hall from 6:30pm – 7:30 pm. We look forward to seeing all our girls and to welcoming new members.
Bible Blethers restarts after the summer break on Wednesday, 3rd September at 10am in the Morriston Room. We meet fortnightly and will start with a screening of “The King’s Speech.” Anyone wishing to join us will be made most welcome.
The General Assembly endorsed the Church’s involvement in ‘Scotland Demands Better’, a national day of action, a march and rally to be held in Edinburgh on Sat 25 October. The Poverty Alliance are organising a public meeting in Glasgow on 4 September 7pm at the Renfield Centre to share news and inspire participation. Anyone who wishes is welcome to attend.
£10 Challenge Event: The Poetry Group is hosting 3Rs: Remembrance, Rhyme and Refreshments on Wednesday 10th September in the small hall at 2.00pm. Come and join us for an afternoon of light-hearted poetry, tea, cake and fellowship. All welcome, no tickets, donations at the door.
Glasgow 850: Rev Grant Barclay, Presbytery Clerk is walking the new pilgrim route from Culross Abbey to Glasgow Cathedral as part of the Glasgow 850 celebration. You can join him on the 11th-14th September as they pass though the various parishes and communities for a short part of the way. Walk ends with prayer at Glasgow Cathedral on 14th September at 4pm. Guild Annual Gathering: The annual gathering will be live streamed in Burnside Blairbeth Church on Saturday 13th September 11am-4pm. Moderator Rt Rev Rosie Frew is the Guest Speaker in the morning. In the Afternoon: “Help for Ukraine”. Tea, coffee, homebaking and sandwich lunch provided. Everybody is welcome to go for all or part of the day!
Glasgow Close Knit: An exhibition of the knitted and crocheted blankets will take place in Kelvin West Parish Church, University Ave/Southpark Ave, G12 8LE, on Sunday 14th September, 1pm – 4pm and from Monday 15th to Thursday 18th September, 10am – 4pm. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Bruce Davies Concert: The internationally renowned singer songwriter, acoustic guitarist will be performing at our Church on Saturday 20th September at 7.30pm. Tickets £10 now on sale from the usual suspects: Tony Neeson, Ohna Robertson, Alison Thomson, Janet Stewart, Bob McDougall.
‘Close Knit’ will meet in the large hall once a month on the following Thursdays 1:30 – 3:30pm –

The Prayer Tree is situated inside the welcome area, for anyone in the church and community who wishes to add a prayer to it. You can write your prayer on one of the supplied labels, and either put it on the tree or into the prayer box. The ministry team will look at the prayers regularly and pray for you.
‘Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you.’ (Jeremiah 29.12).
