Opening Responses

Leader:
Today, we gather as a Church Family, standing at the threshold of a new Ministry for this 12 month ‘in-between time’. With open hearts and minds, we celebrate the promise of new possibilities. Let us enter this space with anticipation, knowing that God walks with us in every step, guiding us towards a future full of hope.

All Together:
We come with gratitude for the gifts of this day, the breath of new life, and the chance to begin again. May our hearts be open to receive what is yet to be revealed, and may we embrace the future with courage and faith.

Walking Group: Our next evening walk will be on Tuesday 19th August, the walk is at Calderglen Country Park and is about 3 miles. It is an out and back walk, consequently shorter options are available. The path follows the Rotten Calder Water to the Flatt Bridge, the route is fairly undulating and there are also some steps. While most of it is a good quality footpath, some sections may be a bit muddy, so good footwear is recommended. Travel will be in shared cars. Those intending to go on the walk should meet outside the Church at 6:30 pm.

The General Assembly endorsed the Church’s involvement in ‘Scotland Demands Better’, a national day of action, a march and rally to be held in Edinburgh on Sat 25 October. As a Christian, Church concerts are important to Bruce and bring out the best in his performance. He has performed throughout the world and sung in the presence of the King and Queen at Crathie Kirk. His numerous TV performances have gained him a dedicated following and garnered much praise from fellow musicians. An experience not to be missed. Tickets £10 on sale from Sunday 24th from the usual suspects: Tony Neeson, Ohna Robertson, Alison Thompson, Janet Stewart, Bob McDougall.

There’s Been a Murder:  Everyone likes a good murder mystery. Our congregation is no exception. Please take an Incident Report Sheet and help him solve the mystery. Best entry wins a prize!
