Summer Services 2025

Our series of all-age summer services has begun. This year the Worship Team of the Kirk Session have chosen the theme ‘Fruitfulness on the Frontline’ (‘Making a difference where we are’) and these services will consider our involvement with, care for, and witness to our local community, and will also include our new ‘Mission Statement’.

20 July       ‘Let the children come!’

27 July       ‘The Great Commandment’

3 August    ‘I was hungry and you fed me’

10 August  ‘The Fruit of the Spirit’

17 August  ‘Valuing & Welcoming children’

Holiday Club: Our holiday club on 5th and 6th August at Flemington Hallside Church was fully booked within hours of it going online. HELP NEEDED: What we REALLY need is people to help in various roles. If you can help, please speak to Karen Hamilton or Susan Young. We need to know this ASAP as if you are not Disclosed, we will need to do that quickly.

Service of Introduction: The Service of Introduction for Hilary and David as Interim Ministers will take place on Thursday 14 August at 7.00pm. The service will be conducted by the Presbytery. All are very warmly encouraged to attend. Refreshments etc will follow this service.

Elders’ Lunch and Conference: Elders are reminded of the lunch and conference to be held following Morning Worship on Sunday 17 August. Email intimation of this event has been sent to all elders. Those yet to respond indicating whether or not they are able to attend are asked to reply to David Denniston as soon as possible. Thank you.

Play Bags: A few bags hanging in the vestibule are available for parents to use during services. You are welcome to take one to use with your child during the service. Please return it to the vestibule after the service.

The Millenium Banner

At one of our Guild meetings we will feature a small exhibition about the making of the Banner. This is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its completion and dedication. The exhibition will not take place until the 17th of November. In the meantime we would value any mementoes and samplers anyone has of their involvement in its completion. Nearer the time we will invite the participants to join the Guild members for coffee and cake. This of course will be open to everyone in the congregation.

Please contact me, Helen Nisbet, via Phone 0141 643 9063 or Email nisbetj1@btinternet.com

The Prayer Tree is situated inside the welcome area, for anyone in the church and community who wishes to add a prayer to it. You can write your prayer on one of the supplied labels, and either put it on the tree or into the prayer box. The ministry team will look at the prayers regularly and pray for you.

‘Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you.’ (Jeremiah 29.12).
