Announcement on COVID

Worship services to continue in Cambuslang Parish Church, after South Lanarkshire moves to COVID Level 4
Congregation numbers restricted to 15
Online and phone worship continue

The Scottish Government announced on Tuesday 17 November that South Lanarkshire would be among the local authority areas which would be put into a stricter lockdown on Friday 20 November, following rising COVID cases across the country.

At Cambuslang Parish Church, the maximum size of the congregation at our 10.30am Sunday services will be reduced from 40 to 15. To attend a service, please book via our website, or by calling 07854 915770.
Our Sunday services continue to be live streamed via Facebook at (which can also be viewed without being a Facebook member). A recording of the service is available later on YouTube.

Listen to our services on CamGlen Radio every Sunday at 3pm. Or use our Dial A Service phone line: 0141 815 1901. (Standard geographic call charges apply, unless you have free calls as part of a phone package).
Currently, there are no church activities, except for Sunday worship, taking place in our buildings. However, certain activities by outside organizations will be able to continue.

We expect our online Festive Fayre to go ahead, although we may have to make different arrangements for deliveries, which we will publicize shortly.
The new arrangements have been made by the Back to Church group, which was given the authority by the Kirk Session to ensure we can use our buildings safely during the pandemic, in accordance with government advice.

The minister of Cambuslang, the Rev Peter W Nimmo, said,
‘It’s disappointing to see further restrictions on worship. Yet it is understandable that this should happen as we face a second wave of COVID.

Our prayers are with those who are sick, and those who have lost loved ones. We remember in prayer, too, those whose livelihoods are affected, and those missing seeing family and friends, especially people in nursing homes and those living alone. We give thanks for the work being done to create vaccines, and we pray for those in authority who making difficult decisions.

We miss meeting our friends in the congregation, but I am sure we will continue to strengthen our fellowship via phone calls, social media and internet technology.

It would be terrible if a place of worship became a site for COVID to spread. By complying with these difficult restrictions on our gatherings, we are obeying Christ’s command to love our neighbour, as we continue to place our trust and hope in God.

And I would urge everyone to pay attention to the advice and regulations which are there to protect us all from this dreadful disease’.
